Winter Challenge 2026 · One Life Fitness

This isn't a weight loss challenge. It's a 12-week reset of how you live.

Most gym challenges measure one thing, what the scale says. This one measures three. Your consistency. Your health. Your fitness. Because if the only thing that changes in 12 weeks is your body composition, you've missed the point.

Member proof

This challenge isn't built around how you look.

But when people put in twelve weeks of consistent work, the body usually follows. These are some of our members.

The photos show what changed on the outside. What you can't see in a side-by-side, the resting heart rate dropping, the habits actually sticking, the sleep coming back, the energy at 4pm, is the part that matters most.

T.

T.

Came in to feel better in her own skin. Left with the strength to actually do the cool stuff she'd been watching from the side.

Vuk

Vuk

Didn't want to be ripped. Wanted to feel better, know what to eat, and trust how he was training. Got all three.

Jamie

Jamie

Walked in with gym anxiety, never having trained. Every health marker improved. 35kg lighter is the part you can see.

Freya

Freya

Came in fighting menopause and the noise telling her to restrict. Runs half marathons now. Does chin ups. Knows her body.

Janelle

Janelle

First time in a gym in twenty years. Came in with aches that ruled out half the exercises. Left with joints that actually hold up.

Hannah

Hannah

Started to enjoy it. The training, the food, the way her body felt at the end of the week.

Elethea

Elethea

Was already training when she walked in. Wanted to learn how to actually eat, lose the weight, and keep it off. Has held onto results she never thought were possible.

Kieran

Kieran

Walked in training for the police force. Fitter, stronger, every health marker improved. 14kg lighter is the part you can see.

Jas

Jas

Already in great shape. Wanted to take it to the next level. Vanity goals are still valid goals.

George

George

Used to laugh at the idea of being "a fitness person." Now she is one. Most parts of her life shifted because of it.

The team

The coaches running it.

Three coaches with twenty-two years of coaching experience between them. Same faces every week for the full 12 weeks, no rotating contractors.

Manu Roberts, Owner

Manu Roberts

Owner

Eleven years coaching everyone from professional athletes and powerlifters to beginners and injury rehab clients. Founder of One Life. Built the business, built the team, still on the floor.

Isaac Ratcliff, Head Coach

Isaac Ratcliff

Head Coach

Came into the industry after his own transformation at seventeen, after being bullied for his weight at school. Coaches one-on-one PT and Pursuit sessions. The kind of coach who tracks what others skip and remembers what you said in passing weeks ago, particular about the details that matter.

Tia Burton, Lead Coach

Tia Burton

Lead Coach

Five years coaching strength, body composition, and habits that hold. Powerlifter and HYROX athlete in her own right. Calm on the floor, hard when she needs to be, smiling the whole way through.

What we're actually trying to build.

The fitness industry has trained you to think a transformation is what you see in the mirror. We think that's only one part of a much bigger story.

You can lose 8kg in 12 weeks and still feel exhausted, anxious, and disconnected from your own life. You can also gain muscle, hit a PB on every lift, and never train consistently again because you burned yourself out trying.

The Winter Challenge is built around the only thing that matters in the long run, that you finish the 12 weeks healthier, stronger, fitter, and with habits that actually hold once the challenge ends.

The leaderboard rewards rate of change, not absolute numbers. The scoring rewards how you live, not just what you lift. The coaching is built around what your life looks like, not what we wish it looked like.

If you're after a challenge that punishes you for 12 weeks then leaves you back where you started, this isn't it.

What our members actually say.

Coaching that holds up after the marketing has done its job. Read the receipts.

Three tracks. One leaderboard.

Most challenges measure one thing: how little you can eat for 12 weeks. We built this differently.

The points system tracks the parts of health and fitness that actually matter, and rewards change across as many of them as possible. The more areas you move forward, the higher you score.

1000 points across three tracks.

40%
Consistency

Showing up. Sticking to your nutrition. Hitting your sleep, your hydration, your habit goals. The biggest track because it's the biggest predictor of whether anything you do in 12 weeks survives Week 13.

35%
Health

Resting heart rate. Blood pressure. Heart rate variability. Body composition measured against the goal you set with your coach, not a generic ideal. The markers that show how your body is functioning, not just what the scale says.

25%
Performance

How much fitter and stronger you got. Tested at the start, tested at the end. Improvement against your own starting point, not someone else's.

What's included.

+

A dedicated coach for 12 weeks

One coach assigned to you the whole way. They know your starting point, your schedule, your goals, and what you said in last week's check-in. Not five different faces who don't know if you skipped Tuesday.

+

Baseline testing in Week 0

Watt bike fitness test, three strength lifts, resting heart rate, blood pressure, heart rate variability, body composition. Tested during your normal training sessions, no extra appointments.

+

Weekly check-ins, signed off by your coach

Five minutes on Sunday night. Log your sessions, nutrition, sleep, habit goal. Your coach reads it Monday morning, signs it off, and adjusts your plan if something is slipping.

+

Programming built into your training

No extra workouts stacked on top of your normal sessions. The challenge work happens in the room you already train in. Your coach builds it into the sessions you already do.

+

Mid-point review at Week 6

One-on-one with your coach. Halfway look at what's working, what's slipping, and what to adjust for the back half. Not scored, just used to keep you on track.

+

Retest week and finale event

Final testing in Week 12, run the same way as Week 0 so your numbers actually compare. Saturday 23 August is the finale event and winner announcement.

+

Public leaderboard, updated weekly

See where you sit across all four tracks. Performance, Health, Consistency, Bonus. Ranked by improvement against your own starting point, not against the fittest person in the room.

+

Three cash prizes

$1,500 first, $750 second, $500 third. Third place is awarded when 20 or more athletes finish the 12 weeks. Real prize money for real change.

The Winter Challenge is included with your membership. No separate fee, no upsell. Sign up to One Life before 22 May and you're in.

Common questions.

Can I do this if I haven't trained in years?

Yes. The scoring is based on improvement from your own starting point, not against the fittest people in the room. New members historically have the most to gain in challenges like this. Your coach will set realistic targets based on where you actually are, not where you wish you were.

What if I miss a week through injury or illness?

The challenge runs through real life. There are no scoring adjustments for injury, illness, or being busy. Your scores will reflect what you actually did, and that's by design. The only exception is medical cancellation with a doctor's note.

What's the time commitment?

Whatever your membership tier supports, plus a five-minute weekly check-in on Sunday night. The challenge is built into your training, not added on top of it.

How are the tests done?

They happen during your normal training sessions in the testing weeks. A coach is on the floor, observes the test, and you record your numbers. No special appointments, no extra hours.

What if I'm coming in because a friend told me about One Life?

Mention them on your application form. As long as they've nominated you with a coach before you sign up, you'll get 10% off your 12-week membership as a welcome bonus.

What if I don't win?

Most people don't. What matters more is that twelve weeks from now you're fitter, stronger, healthier, and you've built habits that survive past August. That's the actual win for everyone in this challenge.
